Cathy Taylor Giuliana - Owner
Cathy Taylor Giuliana received her early training locally and appeared in many musical productions throughout Worcester County. She is a Dean's list graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music and received her Master's Degree from Boston University's School of Special Education.

While attending college, Cathy was awarded scholarships to study with the National Ballet Company in Washington, D.C., The Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Lee, MA, and was the recipient of the Miss Worcester Scholarship Award. She has performed with The Movement Laboratory Dance Theatre of Boston, The Jacob's Pillow Modern Dance Company and danced featured roles in The Boston Conservatory's productions of Swan Lake, Firebird, LaBoutique Fantansque, Remember There is Love and L'Habenera.

Cathy has been on the faculty at The Boston Conservatory of Music and has choreographed for the Vincent Club of Boston and the Beacon Hill Community Club. Cathy is the dance specialist for the Worcester Public Schools and teaches dance at the Worcester Ats Magnet School. She is also a certified Aerobics Instructor.

Cathy is an active member of Dance Masters of America Chapter #5. She has judged area pageants and regional and national dance competitions for American Dance Awards, Dance Masters of America and Headliner Talent Competition.

Susan Belles McCabeNancy Reid
Susan Belles McCabe is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Fitchburg State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Nichols College.

Susan received her early dance training locally and appeared in several musical productions throughout the Worcester County. She has studied at the Boston School of Ballet and is an active member of Dance Masters of America Chapter #5. She continues her dance education in the Boston area.

Susan's choreography in trio, group and class divisions has won high adjudication and cash awards at a variety of regional and national competitions.

Sue and her husband Jim recently competed in the Seacoast Classic Ballroom Dance competition in Dover, N.H. and the Eastern United States Dancesport Championships In Boston, winning numerous first place awards in Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Swing, Rhumba, and Hustle. Additionally, they were semi-finalists in the Dancing With the Stars Tour pre-show competition held at the DCU Center in February.

Nancy Reid received her early training with Cathy Taylor. She was the recipient of numerous awards as a solo and group performer in competitions held throughout New England. Nancy has studied with dance professionals at the University of Massachusetts, Mount Holyoke College, The Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival, The University of New Hampshire, and The Boston Conservatory of Music.

Nancy is a graduate of the University of Masschusetts with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. In addition to her work at The Cathy Taylor School of Dance, Nancy has taught and choreographed for other dance organizations in New England and New York.

Nancy has worked as a staff member for the national dance competition, American Dance Awards. She has also worked for nationally known photographers and costumers.

Karen MackintireNadine Zona
Karen Mackintire began her dance training with Cathy Taylor at the age of 10. She received many group and solo awards, including the annual Ballet Scholarship Award presented by Dance Masters of New England and "Overall Excellence in Ballet" presented by the Terpsichore Dance Associates. Karen is a 1991 Dean's List graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. She has studied with dance professionals from the University of Massachusetts, Mount Holyoke College, and Smith College.

Karen participated in the "Career Start Program" in the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World, Florida. While there, she was able to further her dance experience, studying with renowned Disney choreographers.

Karen teaches many solo, group, and specialty routines and her students are often high score winners at both regional and national competitions. Karen recently won a "high score award" for her lyrical choreography, "Bridge Over Troubled Water."

Nadine Zona is a 1991 honor graduate of Auburn High School and The Cathy Taylor School of Dance. She was a Tophatter, gold medal soloist, and frequently won high score awards for emotional execution and technical performance. Nadine was a third runner up to Junior Miss Dance of New England, danced in the 1991 nation award winning routine "Goodbye My Friend" and performed in three nationally televised dance competition specials.

In 1995, Nadine was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree from Worcester State College. In February 1996, she was chosen as one of fifteen finalists in the Walt Disney World National Audition Tour. Her soloists have won numerous high score awards and special awards for emotional execution. Nadine continues to expand her dance education by frequently attending master classes and national seminars. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Erin BrophyMegan Berg
Erin Brophy has a bachelor's degree from Holy Cross College with a major in Psychology and dance.

Erin has trained in the dance field for 22 years and studied with such dance professionals as L.A. based Keith Clifton, Bob Rizzo, and Kathleen Ridlon from the Alvin Ailey Company. In 2003, she worked with Chet Walker, choreographer of the renowned musical, Fosse, and Troy Powell, Director of Ailey II.

Erin teaches modern, hip-hop, jazz, tap and ballet at the studio. In addition to her weekly classes, she choreographs various solos and small group routines for our competitive dancers. Currently, Erin is a buyer at TJX Companies Inc.

Megan Przygoda was a student at the Cathy Taylor School of Dance for 16 years, starting at the age of 2. After her training at Cathy Taylor's she received her B. A. in Dance and Sociology from Skidmore College and her Masters in Social Work from Smith School for Social Work. Throughout her professional dance career, Megan has danced with Boston and New York based dance companies including Kelly Donovan and Dancers, Andrea Blesso and Verhoff/LoTurco Danceworks. She was a scholarship student at Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago where she studied with well known choreographers including Nan Giordano and Jon Lehrer.

Megan has studied and taught dance throughout the United States and Europe including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Boston and Paris. She is excited to be teaching modern, hip-hop and jazz at Cathy Taylor's and wishes all the dancers a great recital.

Beth StanhopeAngie Beahn
Beth began her dance training at the age of four at the Cathy Taylor School of Dance. She received numerous gold metals and top score awards in various dance competitions. In 2002 she was awarded the "Starpower" Power Pak Award and in 2003 the "Star System" Superstar Summer Dance Award. In 2003 she was also a member of the National first place scoring trio, "I Will Be There". Beth graduated from the studio in 2003 and is currently teaching at the studio.

For the past two years, she has conducted research in affiliation with Cornell University on chemoreception. The results are currently in the process of being published. She graduated from Clark University in 2007 with a major in psychology and sociology with a certificate in school psychology. She is currently working in Boston, MA and attending Northeastern University.

Angie Beahn began her dance training with Cathy Taylor at the age of 3. She performed solo and group dances at regional and national competitions and won gold and platinum awards. In 2003 she won the "Star Systems" Superstar Summer Dance Award.

Angie graduated from the studio in 2003. She recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Nichols College with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. She is in the Zeta Alpha Phi and Delta Mu Delta Honor Societies. Angie is currently pursuing her MBA at Nichols. This is her fourth year teaching at the studio.

Amanda RockwoodCharlie Holbrook
Amanda Rockwood trained for 15 years at the Cathy Taylor School of Dance. She received numerous gold medals and high scoring awards for both solo and group routines in various dance competitions. She was a Dance Masters of America tap and jazz scholarship recipient. In 2004, she was also chosen to represent the studio in the Headliners National Dance Team Competition in Germany. Amanda was also a scholarship recipient at the "Steppe With Me" dance convention.

Amanda graduated from the studio in 2006 and is currently teaching our Tap/Jazz classes once a week. She is attending Nichols College and is majoring in accounting with hopes to receive a master's degree in accounting as well. Amanda is also part of the Zeta Alpha Phi Honor Society.

Charles Holbrook has danced in Las Vegas, on television, and has choreographed and performed in many regional Theater productions. He has taught Master Tap classes at Dean College, University of Rhode Island, Boston Conservatory, Dance Masters of America, and Greater Brockton Dance Alliance.

Javin Catherine Ashlaw
Javin Ashlaw trained at the Cathy Taylor School of Dance for 15 years. In competition, she was awarded numerous gold medals and special awards for both solo and group routines. In 1998, she was named Teen Miss Superstar at the Star Systems Talent Competition. Javin was also a Dance Masters of America Tap Scholarship recipient. For two consecutive years, she was the senior workshop scholarship recipient at the "Steppe With Me" Dance Convention and was an assistant to Steppe Stewart and his renowned staff.

Javin's professional studies include Oklahoma City University's School for American Dance and Arts Management. While in Oklahoma, she was a member of the American Spirit Dance Company and a member of the OCU Pep Dancers Squad.

Javin is also an active member of the National Dance Alliance--an association of teachers and dance professionals based in Garland, TX. With NDA, Javin spent two summers traveling the United States as a jazz, hip-hop, kickline, and pom instructor at summer dance intensives. She enjoys traveling to NDA regional and national dance events where she can instruct, choreograph, and judge.

This is Javin's eighth year as a regular faculty member of the Cathy Taylor School of Dance. Javin also teaches at the Betty Gundersen Studio of Dance (West Brookfield, MA). In addition to her weekly classes she instructs, Javin choreographs numerous solos, groups, and specialty routines. Her choreography has been nationally recognized and appeared on televised specials. Most recently, Javin has been recognized for her high-scoring routine "We Walk Away" by the Hall of Fame Dance Challenge, On Stage America, American Dance Awards, and Dance Ovations Competitions (1st Place High Score Sr. Adjudication & Cash Award, Diamond Choreography, Innovative Choreography, Superior Staging, and Judge's Choice). Outside studio instruction Javin has choreographed competition and performance routines for the Stonehill College Dance Team and for the WNBA Solar Power Dance Team.

Javin's performance credits in her younger years were the Albany Berkshire Ballet's Nutcracker, Dance Masters of New England Title Pageant, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Opening Number. Some of her professional credits include Six Flags New England's Illusion Quest (dancer/swing), the American Spirit Dance Company's Yuletide Magic, (dancer), Weird Al Yankovick's Poodle Hat Tour (back-up dancer), the Boston Celtics' pre-season games (half-time appearance), WNBA All-Star Game (dancer), and two seasons with the WNBA Solar Power Dance Team (member/captain). She was contracted with Jean Ann Ryan Productions to perform for Norwegian Cruise Lines aboard the Pride of Aloha. Javin danced and sang in two different shows -- 'Runnin' Wild' and 'Sea Legs Cirque'. She participated in the NBA Celtics Dancer auditions in which she was a finalist, was part of a feature poll on Celtics.com, and filmed a segment for Dreaming Green, a reality television feature that was produced by NBA-TV. Javin has served as a competition judge for Turn It Up Dance Challenge and On Stage America Dance Competitions.

Last September, Javin had the opportunity to travel overseas to China. Along with Studio Director/Owner Cathy Taylor, she took a select group of 'Tophatters' (Studio Competition Company) to represent the U.S.A. as performers in the Shanghai International Arts Festival. This showcase was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Shanghai Municipal Government and presented the best in world culture by promoting various forms of art. The festival was an incredible learning experience, and the Tophatters' performances were highly-regarded by the people of China. Her dancers are extremely excited about their nomination for the next exciting 'venture'--the World Showdance & Hip Hop Championships held in Germany this fall.

Stefanie Algieri - Office Manager
Stefanie is a graduate of the Cathy Taylor School of Dance and the University of Massachusetts. She recently earned an MBA and is currently serving as our Office Manager.
